First Time in Canggu: The Survival Guide No One Tells You

Nightlife in Berawa: Why You Don't Need to Go to Batu Bolong Anymore in 2026

In 2021, nightlife in Canggu meant Batu Bolong. Old Man's, The Practice, Vault. Everyone went to Batu Bolong to party.

In 2026, nightlife moved to Berawa. And if you still go to Batu Bolong every night, you are wasting time in traffic and partying with drunk 19-year-olds.

Berawa in 2026 has the best beach clubs, the best cocktail bars, the best live music, and the best hidden speakeasies in Canggu, all within 2-4 minutes from Aviator Bali Apartment Hotel at Jl. Tegal Sari Gang Kana No.59, Berawa, Canggu. You can walk home or take Rp 25k Gojek. No need to drive drunk 20 minutes.

Here is the complete nightlife guide in Berawa for people who want good drinks, good music, and still be able to work at 8 AM next morning.

6 PM - 9 PM: SUNSET BEACH CLUBS (The Golden Hour)

This is Berawa's superpower. Batu Bolong has no real sunset beach clubs with big beach. Berawa has 4 world-class beach clubs side by side.

Finns Beach Club (3 mins from Aviator Bali): The biggest beach club in the world. Famous, but go for sunset, not for late night. At 6 PM, Finns has 4 pools, live DJ, and sunset over ocean. Minimum spend Rp 300k for sunbed, but you can go to free area near beach with Rp 100k for beer. Good for first-timers.

Atlas Beach Club (3 mins): Newer than Finns, bigger, louder, with huge dance floor. Best for big party and big DJ. If you like Atlas, go at 7 PM for sunset dinner, leave at 10 PM before it gets too drunk and crowded. Don't stay until midnight if you want to work next day.

Mari Beach Club (3 mins): More chill, more boutique, better food. Best for date night. Mediterranean food, good cocktails, live acoustic music. If you are couple, go to Mari, not Finns.

La Brisa Berawa (4 mins): The OG. Made from reclaimed wood, sustainable, boho vibe, Sunday market. Best for Sunday sunset with live music. Not a party, more chill.

Pro tip from Berawa locals: Don't go to beach club every day. Beach clubs are expensive (Rp 500k-1m per night with drinks) and loud. Go 2x per week. Other days, enjoy free Berawa Beach sunset with coconut (Rp 25k) 2 mins from Aviator Bali. Same sunset, 90% cheaper.

9 PM - 12 AM: COCKTAIL BARS & LIVE MUSIC (The Real Nightlife)

This is where Berawa beats Batu Bolong in 2026. Batu Bolong bars are loud, cheap beer, young crowd. Berawa bars are quality.

The Shady Fox (2 mins from Aviator Bali, in Berawa): Hidden cocktail bar behind a coffee shop. Speakeasy vibe, no sign. Best cocktails in Canggu, made by mixologist from Melbourne. Price Rp 120k-150k per cocktail, but quality like in Bali's best. Quiet, dark, perfect for conversation. If you want to impress someone, bring them here.

Motel Mexicola Berawa (3 mins): Mexican party bar, tacos, tequila, live band, dancing on table. Fun, loud, but good fun. Goes until 1 AM.

The Orchard Bar & Kitchen Berawa (3 mins): Live music every night, garden vibe, expat community. Best for meeting friends, not too loud.

Bali Joe Berawa (2 mins): Sports bar, shows AFL and football, cheap Bintang, pool table. For nights you want to watch game.

Why Berawa nightlife is better for long-stay people:

  • You can walk home. From any bar in Berawa to Aviator Bali is 2-4 mins scooter or 10 mins walk. No need to drive drunk, no need to pay Rp 150k GoCar to Pererenan or Umalas.
  • It is safe. Berawa gangs like Gang Kana where Aviator Bali is located are local residential, well-lit, with families. At 11 PM, you can walk home safely, unlike dark Pererenan road.
  • You can sleep. If you stay in Batu Bolong near nightlife, you hear music until 1 AM. If you stay in Berawa Gang Kana, you are 3 mins from nightlife but your street is quiet. You party, you come home to quiet apartment, you sleep well, you work at 8 AM.

12 AM - LATE: WHAT IF YOU WANT TO PARTY HARD?

If you want to party until 3 AM, you can still go to Batu Bolong or Old Man's. But don't stay there.

Base in Berawa at Aviator Bali, go to Batu Bolong for party at 11 PM with GoCar (Rp 50k), party until 2 AM, GoCar back to Berawa (Rp 60k). You get best of both: party in Batu Bolong, sleep in quiet Berawa.

Many of our guests at Aviator Bali do this: They party hard 1-2x per week in Batu Bolong, but they LIVE in Berawa because Berawa is livable.

THE BERAWA NIGHTLIFE ROUTINE THAT DOESN'T DESTROY PRODUCTIVITY

This is what our long-stay guests who work remotely do:

Monday - Thursday: No party. Sunset at free Berawa Beach (2 mins), dinner at Warung Bu Mi (Rp 35k), home by 9 PM, work, sleep.

Friday: Sunset at Mari Beach Club (3 mins) for dinner + 2 cocktails, home by 10 PM with GoCar.

Saturday: Party night. Pre-drinks at apartment in Aviator Bali (buy Bintang at Pepito 2 mins, cheap), GoCar to Atlas or Finns at 9 PM, party until 12-1 AM, GoCar home.

Sunday: No party. La Brisa Sunday Market + early sleep.

You get nightlife without burning out, without spending Rp 5 million per week on drinks, and without destroying your work.

HOW MUCH DOES NIGHTLIFE IN BERAWA COST?

  • Bintang at local warung: Rp 25k-35k
  • Cocktail at Shady Fox: Rp 120k-150k
  • Beer at Finns: Rp 80k
  • Dinner at Mari: Rp 150k-250k
  • GoCar Berawa to Atlas: Rp 25k-35k
  • Total for good night out in Berawa: Rp 300k-500k

Total for night out in Batu Bolong if you stay in Pererenan: Rp 300k drinks + Rp 150k transport back and forth + 1 hour traffic = Rp 450k + stress.

In 2026, nightlife moved from Batu Bolong to Berawa.

Berawa has better beach clubs (Finns, Atlas, Mari, La Brisa), better cocktail bars (Shady Fox), better live music, and it is 2-4 mins from where you live in Aviator Bali, so you can walk home safe.

Batu Bolong is for 19-year-olds on their first Bali trip. Berawa is for people who want good nightlife and still want to live well.

Base in Berawa. Party in Berawa. Sleep in quiet Gang Kana, Berawa.

Aviator Bali - Apartment Hotel, Berawa, Canggu
Jl. Tegal Sari Gang Kana No.59, Berawa, Canggu, Bali 80363
2-3 mins to all Berawa beach clubs & bars. Quiet local gang, secure parking, 24-hour manager. Walk home safe after party.
