Rainy Season in Berawa: What to Do When it Rains in Canggu 2026 (Honest Guide)
If you Google "Bali rainy season" you see scary photos: flood, trash on beach, can't surf, can't go out.

WHEN IS RAINY SEASON IN BERAWA?
Rainy season: October - March, peak December - February.
But Berawa is different from Ubud. In Berawa, it doesn't rain all day. Pattern:
- Morning: Sunny 7 AM - 1 PM (you can surf, gym, cafe)
- Afternoon: Heavy rain 2 PM - 5 PM (1-3 hours)
- Evening: Clear again 6 PM onwards (sunset often clear)
So you get 70% sunny time even in rainy season. Only 2-3 days per month rain all day.
Flood? Batu Bolong floods every heavy rain (Jl. Batu Bolong becomes river). Pererenan rice field roads become mud, impossible to drive.

- Cook in Full Kitchen: Make warm food. Buy from Pepito (2 mins) before rain: eggs, noodles, veggies. Our apartments have full kitchen with stove, fridge, pans.
- Indoor Gyms 2-4 mins: Bambu Fitness (2 mins), Obsidian (3 mins), Wrong Gym (4 mins) — all indoor, AC, not affected by rain. Go 3 PM when rain, gym empty.
- Work Cafes Indoor: Hungry Bird (2 mins), Baked (3 mins) — all have covered indoor seating. Go for coffee and meet other nomads stuck in rain.
- Laundry & Cleaning: Drop laundry at laundry Gang Kana (2 mins, Rp 7k/kg) before rain. Housekeeping at Aviator Bali will clean your apartment.
- Movie / Reading: Your apartment at Aviator Bali has smart TV, you can chill.
WHAT TO DO AFTER RAIN (5 PM ONWARDS):
Best time in Berawa!
- Sunset at Berawa Beach (2 mins) after rain is MOST BEAUTIFUL. Sky pink, orange, purple, no one on beach because tourists thought it will rain all day. You get empty beach.
- Beach clubs Finns & Atlas (3 mins) empty at 5-6 PM after rain, no queue.
- Road empty, you can scooter to Batu Bolong or Pererenan quickly.
WHAT NOT TO DO IN RAINY SEASON:
- Don't surf at Berawa Beach during heavy rain and lightning (2 mins away, but check). Wait 1 hour after rain.
- Don't drive through Batu Bolong Jl. Batu Bolong during heavy rain (floods knee-high).
- Don't rent villa in Pererenan rice field without car (road becomes mud).
- Don't stay in hotel without kitchen (you will starve or pay GoJek surge price).
PACKING FOR RAINY SEASON IN BERAWA:
- Raincoat (not umbrella, you need hands for scooter)
- Dry bag for laptop/phone (Rp 100k at Pepito)
- Crocs or sandals (not white shoes)
