First Time in Canggu: The Survival Guide No One Tells You

THE 6 BEST WORK CAFES IN BERAWA (TESTED WITH SPEEDTEST)

1. BAKED - BER AWA (3 MINS FROM AVIATOR BALI)

Address: Jl. Pantai Berawa No.99 (3 mins)

WiFi: 85 Mbps down / 40 Mbps up (tested at 9 AM). Fast enough for Zoom.

Power plugs: 8 plugs in indoor area, 2 in outdoor. Come early to get plug seat.

Noise: Quiet at 8-11 AM, loud at 12-2 PM (lunch rush).

Best time to work: 7:30-11 AM. After 11 AM, too crowded and noisy.

Laptop policy: Friendly, but don't stay 5 hours with 1 coffee. Buy 2 coffees + food (Rp 150k) if you stay 3 hours.

Best for: Morning deep work + good coffee + sourdough.

Our tip: Baked gets packed at 9 AM. Go at 7:30 AM when they open. You get best table near plug.

2. HUNGRY BIRD COFFEE ROASTERS - BERAWA (2 MINS)

Address: Jl. Tegal Sari, Berawa (2 mins, walkable from Aviator Bali)

WiFi: 120 Mbps down (fastest in Berawa, because they roast coffee and have good internet).

Power plugs: 6 plugs inside.

Noise: Very quiet, minimal music, serious work vibe. No kids.

Best time: 8 AM - 3 PM.

Laptop policy: Very laptop friendly, many people work here.

Best for: Serious deep work, calls, Zoom (they have quiet corner).

Our tip: This is closest work cafe from Aviator Bali. You can walk. If your apartment WiFi has issue (rare, but happens), walk 2 mins to Hungry Bird.

3. COPENHAGEN - BERAWA (2 MINS)

Address: Jl. Pantai Berawa (2 mins)

WiFi: 45 Mbps (medium, okay for work but not for heavy upload).

Power plugs: 4 plugs only.

Noise: Medium, chill music.

Best for: Afternoon work + people watching + meeting friends. Not for deep focus.

Laptop policy: Friendly but outdoor only for laptops.

4. MILK & MADU - BERAWA (4 MINS)

Address: Jl. Pantai Berawa

WiFi: 60 Mbps.

Power plugs: Many plugs in upstairs area.

Noise: Loud at 10 AM onwards because popular with moms and kids.

Best for: Morning work before 10 AM, then it becomes social cafe.

5. THE SHADY SHACK (5 MINS)

Address: Jl. Tanah Barak, Berawa

WiFi: 70 Mbps.

Power plugs: 6 plugs.

Vibe: Vegan, garden, quiet, good for creative work.

Best for: Writing, designing, not for calls.

6. YOUR APARTMENT AT AVIATOR BALI (0 MINS)

This is why apartment hotel is better than hotel room for remote workers.

Hotel room: Small desk, chair not ergonomic, WiFi shared with 100 rooms slow at night, no kitchen so you have to go out for every coffee.

Aviator Bali Apartment: Private workspace with proper table, ergonomic chair, 200 Mbps dedicated WiFi per apartment (not shared like hotel), full kitchen to make your own coffee (save Rp 50k per day), quiet gang, no construction noise.

Many of our long-stay guests work 70% from apartment, 30% from cafe. They go to cafe to meet people, not because they have to.

WHICH CAFE FOR WHICH WORK?

Deep work + Zoom calls: Hungry Bird (2 mins) or Baked 7:30-11 AM

Creative writing: Shady Shack

Meeting client/friend: Copenhagen or Milk & Madu

When you need to save money: Work from Aviator Bali apartment (free coffee from your kitchen, fast WiFi).

THE BERAWA WORK-FROM-CAFE ROUTINE THAT ACTUALLY WORKS

Our long-stay guests who stay 1-3 months and are productive:

7:00 AM: Wake up, work 2 hours deep work from Aviator Bali apartment (quietest, fastest WiFi, no distraction).

9:00 AM: Walk 2 mins to Hungry Bird or Baked for coffee + 2 hours work + meet people.

11:30 AM: Back to Aviator Bali apartment for lunch (cook in kitchen, save money) + 3 hours deep work.

3:00 PM: Gym or surf at Berawa Beach (2 mins).

5:30 PM: Sunset.

You save money because you don't need to buy 3 coffees per day to work from cafe. You work mostly from apartment with kitchen and fast WiFi, you go to cafe for social.

HOW MUCH DOES WORK-FROM-CAFE COST IN BERAWA?

If you work only from cafes: 2 coffees per day Rp 80k x 30 days = Rp 2.4m per month + food Rp 3m = Rp 5.4m just for work.

If you base at Aviator Bali with kitchen: Make coffee at home Rp 10k per day x 30 = Rp 300k, cook lunch Rp 30k per day x 30 = Rp 900k, total Rp 1.2m. Save Rp 4.2m per month.

FINAL VERDICT

Best work cafes in Berawa are Baked and Hungry Bird for deep work, both 2-3 mins from Aviator Bali.

But best workspace is still your apartment at Aviator Bali with 200 Mbps, proper desk, kitchen, and quiet.

Base in Berawa, work from apartment, cafe hop when you need people.
